Americans See GLC Rehabilitation Scheme.
A party of Americans from the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the U.S.A. visited a prize-winning Greater London Council rehabilitation scheme during a whistle-stop tour of buildings of architectural interest. The scheme at Portland Grove, Lambeth, in which ten early 19th century houses were rehabilitated (refurbished on the outside, modernised on the inside) received a Civic Trust Award. It is part of a large rehabilitation programme being carried out by the Council in various parts of London.
