"Talking" Orang-Utan For TV Programme: A 'talking' orang-utan called Cody is the star of Thames Television's Today programme tonight. He will be interviewed by John Stapleton. Cody, a 13 months old, was "adopted" by Ph. D research student Keith Laidler six weeks after birth. Since then he has been trated as a human baby, sleeping in a cot in a nursery, given toya and a climbing frame to play with, and is being taught to 'speak' - his vocabulary now totals two half-words. Cody is now about 18 inches tall and will grow to an eventual 4 ft 6ins. he lives at Flamingo Park Zoo, near Malton, Yorkshire. Photo Shows: Cody, the orang-utan 'talking' to Keith Laidler, who has adopted him - at Thames TV House, Euston Road, today.
