The ''Flying Finn'' wins the powerboat race: Tino Makiner, the ''Flying Finn'' and his co-driver Pascoe Watson, brought Avenger Too home to Portsmouth yesterday in brilliant style, to win the Daily Telegraph and BF Round Britain Powerboat Race. They covered the final 118-mile leg from Ramsgate in 3hrs 11 mins 24.8 secs, to finish second behind Tim Powell's U.F.~. Makinen and his partner, overall leads from the sixth stage at Invernese, took the £10,000 fire prize for the shortest clapsed time over the 10-stage, 1,403-mile course, 2 hours ahead of their nearest rival UFO whose crew receive £1,500.
