1975 Press Photo Stewardesses Back In London After High Jacked Plane

Happy After Skyjack Attempt Members of the crew of the British Airways BAC 1-11 - who were held hostage by a skyjacker on a flight from Manchester to London, pictured all smiles after their ordeal. They are British Airways Steward Alan Bond, who was bitten by a police dog as he overpowered the skyjacker at Stansted Airport, and Stewardesses Barbara Brindley (left) and Heather Ablard. The skyjacker had asked to be flown to Paris - but the plane flew to Stansted Airport from Heathrow. the skyjacker, armed with what turned out to be a dummy pistol, was overpowered by Alan Bond as they left the aircraft after arriving at Stansted.
