The Restauranteur Who Shoots His Own Game.
Though that they may not realize it - those people who enjoy the traditional game dishes served at the two popular restaurants in King's Road, Chelsea Alvaro's and teh Club Dell 'Aretusa - are certainly getting a special treat. For Alvaro, proprietor of the restaurants, not only chooses the birds personally - he shoots them himself! Alvaro spends each weekend, with eight friends at Orsett Hall, Essex - where he pays $250 a year for the shooting rights. And right as many as 250 birds some weeks - Alvaro certainly has a good investment - for then the birds turn up in the restaurants - prices are up to 18/6 each.
Alvaro holds up a braces of phessants which he has shot - which will be served in his restaurants.
