Minneapolis. Police officer Diane Pierce- Tudela shields herself behind a plexiglass display case 10/4 as she confronts a gun-toting man identified by police as Rodrigo Armando Espinoza-Rangel. She fired two shots at the gunman. When other officers arrived, he dropped his weapon and surrendered. The incident started when Esponoza-Rangel scuffled with the policewoman's partner and shot him with his own gun. The officer was saved by his flak jacket. Pierce-Tudela was fired for not reacting quickly enough to help her partner.
