Description
Traveling this state, you meet a lot of nice animals beside the road. I visited with a small bunch of donkeys, mixed in with some horses, on Highway 159 near Hempstead. I think a new donkey colt is one of the strangest little creatures in nature, especially in winter when, like this one, he's got all that hair to go with his long ears. I'm fond of donkeys because the average one you come across on the road seems so glad to see you, and is sorry when you leave.
