Description
Detroit: General Motors Chairman Thomas A. Murphy says 1976 will be a boom year for the auto industry, even if gasoline and car prices rise. Murphy told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview higher gasoline prices might even stimulate sales of new domestic cars which offer higher mileage. Murphy estimates 1976 sales at 10 million units. Depressed 1975 sales, he said, should hit 8.5 million units.
