Ft. Polk, LA - Artillerymen practice crew drill with the "American 75," an updated version of the famous French field piece. The 1940 war games in Louisiana were rehearsals for World War II. Round fatigue hats were then the new style as was the field jacket. Tactics, concepts and procedures all changed as a result of lessons learned during the 1940-41 Louisiana Maneuvers.
