The U.S.S. Forrestal, first aircraft carrier built since World War II, designed to accommodate the latest types of jet aircraft. The 1036 foot flight deck, features an angled deck, two-runway system and four launching catapults for increased flexibility and speed of air operations. She is shown underway on her shakedown cruise in the Caribbean. USS. United States (U.S.)
