Washington, D.C. - General Maxwell D. Taylor, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, poses today with a silver calendar presented to him by President Kennedy as a memento of the 13-day Cuban crisis. The President gave calendars, mounted on ebony bases, to each of the 14-men group which helped him devise military and political strategy in those dangerous days. The dates from October 16 through October 28 are deeply etched. the general's initials appear in the upper left corner - the President's are in the opposite corner.
