Washington, D.C. - this is a study of General Maxwell Taylor, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as he listened to a question while testifying today before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The general told the senators, holding hearings on the limited nuclear test ban treaty, that the top military leaders are supporting the United States (U.S.) - British-Soviet pact without any "pressure" or "arm twisting" from civilian superiors in the Pentagon.
