Galveston, Texas - The Strand The mood is set... The streetlamps are lit... The chestnuts are roasting on an open fire.... Entertainers by the hundreds are ready to perform.... And the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach is teamed up and ready to rumble down the cobbled Strand Street in Galveston. 3000 volunteers of the Galveston historical foundation are almost ready for the ninth annual Dicken's Evening on The Strand in Galveston historic Strand District. The authentic Victorian event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday evening, December 3rd and from noon until 10 p.m. Saturday, December 4th between 20th and 25th Streets and all side streets therein. Tickets are $4 for adult at the gate ($3 in Advance) and children 6 to 12 and those 65 and older are $1. children under six are admitted free.
