Children. Because of the beautiful weather and Easter holidays, Houston area residents found plenty of reasons to be outdoors. In photos at top left, children at Memorial Park enjoy continually climbing the steps of a slide-only to zoom down again and begin anew. In bottom left photo, John David Johnson, 13, of Plum Grove, is caught in the act of throwing a can through a makeshift basketball hoop in his backyard. The weather also was great for drying his family's clothes in the sunlight and fresh air.
