North American Rockwell Corp. has developed a manned submarine, called the Beaver IV, as an on-side vehicle for broad range of undersea work assignments. Ed Krueger, the submersible's pilot, left, and E.H. Manuel, vice-president and general manager of the company's ocean systems operations, are shown in front of the Beaver IV which is on display at the offshore Technology Conference at the Albert Thomas Convention Center. I can operate in water up to 2000 feet deep, carrying a crew of two and three passengers. The conference ends today.
