1973 Press Photo Central Air Scrubber System for Furnace-Armco Steel Corp.

Armco Steel Corp. This is the central air scrubber system for the No. 2 electric furnace shop. Most of the time, particle laden smoke generated by the furnaces passes through this cleaning system before discharging to atmosphere. Work in progress now is designed to trap all the smoke so that it can be processed though the system. Note basket of workmen swinging from crane who are part of the crew which must complete installation of one experimental hood before October 31 to comply with the air suit court order. Evidence of the efficiency of the scrubber system is exhibited by lack of visible emissions from any of the stacks.
