Description
Site preparation is well along for new process units that will be erected at the Baytown refinery of Exxon Co., USA, as part of a program to expand the plant's capacity by about 250,000 barrels a day. The expansion will make the Baytown plant the largest refinery in the United States. The refinery's current rated capacity is 400,000 barrels of crude oil a day. The new units are expected to be in operation during the later part of 1976. Exxon is spending about $400 million on expansion of its domestic refining facilities, with the bulk of the money being allocated for the Baytown expansion. Other units being expanded are located at Baton Rouge, LA, and Bayway, NJ.
