Caption: (WX15) WASHINGTON, Feb. 8 -- ADAM'S DAY -- Adam Clayton Powell had his day today before the Select House Committee seeking to determine his qualifications for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Powell was pensive, talkative and jovial before and after the hearing, where he refused to answer the committee's questions. The chairman, Rep. Emanuel Celler, D-N.Y., top right, recessed the proceedings after Powell's appearance.
