Caption: Having a cup of coffee on election morning in their Cheboygan home are Congressman Charles E. Potter and his wife, Lorraine. They had voted earlier in Cheboygan and then sat up listening to the election returns which made him the Republican nominee for the United States Senator from Michigan. A veteran of World War II, Potter suffered wounds which cost him both legs. The Potters, married in 1939, have no children.
