Description
Caption: Diagram shows how the plastic shield is attached to the saxophone. Saxo-phonists have trouble hearing the darn things. Watch them when they tune up, as often as not pointing the mouth of the instrument at the wall or into a corner to bounce the sound back toward their ears. "I Started Experimenting with pieces of cardboard and hair roller clips for the first one, and stuck it on," he recalled recently. As soon as he tried it, he said, "My knees started getting wobby. I knew I was on to something.".
