Caption: William X. Kienzle, author of eight bestselling mysteries, was ordained into the priesthood in 1954 and spent twenty years as a parish priest. For twelve years he was editor-in-chief of the Michigan Catholic. After leaving the priesthood, he became editor of MPLS magazine in Minneapolis and later moved to Texas.
