Description
Caption: Wayne County Clerk James Kileen: ?We?re seeing a substantial change in the out-country makeup. I have a sneaking suspicion it?s a long-range change. Who would ever believe Reagan would carry Melvindale?? James Killeen, Wayne County clerk since 1975, entered Harper Hospital Wednesday for cancer treatment. Killeen, 62, said doctors told him two weeks ago he has lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph glands. He said he is ?very optimistic? as he begins a chemotherapy regimen requiring an initial 10-day hospitalization. ?My doctors say two in three people (with lymphoma) make it ? it?s one of the most curable of cancers,? Killeen said.
