Caption: Gov. Claude Kirk stands in front of U.S. Supreme Court after personally delivering motion on school desegregation. Gov. Claude Kirk of Florida stands before the Supreme Court Building in Washington today after personally delivering a motion on the court?s school desegregation order. The governor says he is directing the state?s school districts not to abide by the court order which calls for desegregation by Feb. 1. He told the court that Florida could not accomplish the scope of desegregation ordered in the time allowed.
