Caption: Princeton, NJ, Feb. 7-Bound For Russia--Mr. and Mrs. George F. Kennan sit with their son and daughter in their home here as they awaited Kennan's confirmation as United States Ambassador to Moscow. Daughter Joan, 15, sits between her father and mother, while two-year-old Christopher is amused by book held by his father. President Truman today nominated Kennan to succeed Admiral Alan G. Kirk who resigned yesterday. Kennan, a State Department expert on Russia, is author of the policy of "containment" of Russian Communism.
