Caption: Swearing-in ceremonies for Nathan J. Kaufman (left), new Common Pleas judge, brought Gov. Williams to Detroit to administer the oath of office. Williams (right), who named the former assistant prosecutor to fill an unexpired term, presented him with a ?nonpartisan? bow tie, traditional trademark of the Governor. The Board of Supervisors? room in the County Building was packed for the ceremony. Looking on is Common Pleas Judge Ralph W. Liddy.
