Caption: Los Angeles, March 14, 1967--Amateur To Try To Sail Pacific Alone--Ikuo Kashima, an amateur sailor from Japan, crosses his fingers for luck aboard the Japanese freighter Kamikawa Maru on which he arrived in Los Angeles today with his 5.8-ton yacht, Koraasa. Sometime in April he plans to set sail in an effort to cross the Pacific to his homeland.
