Description
Caption: (FOR USE WITH JOHN BARBOUR STORY MOVED IN ADVANCE FOR THURSDAY AMS,JUNE 5) (NY10-June 4) SAILING A SATELLITE THROUGH SPACE: AN ARTIST'S CONCEPTION--Associated press artist John Carlton sketches an imaginary sail-pulled satellite. Sketch is based on suggestion by Dr. Richard L. Gavin of Columbia University that huge sails may become one of the best ways of getting around in space. The sails would billow out with sun power instead of wind power. (APWirephoto) (GWW40700) 58.
