Caption: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration today released this drawing of the communications satellite it plans to send into orbit in 1962. The 100-pound earth satellite, forerunner of spacecraft for the same purpose, will be capable of receiving radio, television and telephone messages, store them, and repeat them on command from ground stations. Foreign nations are invited to build ground stations to take part in the experiments.
