Caption: REPUBLICAN PARTY Birthplace. The photo was taken at the Oaks monument in Jackson. This monument arks the spot where the party was founded in 1854. It was unveiled by President William Howard Taft in 1912. This club is taking an active part in the arrangements for the celebration and they will have a float of their own in the parade on friday night july 6th . Those in the pictures are Mae Sherer, Jean Alderdyce, Mrs. Levant VAndervort, Lillian Thompson, Golda Moore, Katheline Scinchcomb and Lila Padlock.
