Caption: Here are two individuals at the Republican national convention who back their favorites vigorously. Left, J.V. Harnley, 74, of Santa Monica, Calif., means business when he roots for Thomas E. Dewey. Right, Mrs. Fannie C. Williams of Ashtabula, O., toots a horn for Sen. Robert A. Taft. In 1940 Mr. Santa Monica backed Dewey. And Ashtabula went for Taft.
