Description
Caption: UNEXPLAINED BLAZEAn unloaded school bus caught fire about 8:40 a.m. Monday on the northbound Lodge Freeway near Linwood after 10 physically and mentally impaired students had been dropped off at Field Trainable School in Detroit. Sate Police said the fire started in the engine area of the propane powered bus, operated by Safeway Transportation, a private contractor. The driver, William Hoskins, 59, of Oak Park was not injured, police said. The cause of the fire, which engulfed the bus before fire fighters could extinguish it, was not known, police said.
