Caption: PROPRIETOR OF HOME AND SOME OF THE AGED PERSONS RESCUED INAmos Martin,48 years old, has no convalescent home license for his establishment at 91 Edit to which old-age pensioners were referred. the group of those removed while flames ravagedthe building are (from the left) Mrs. Cora Cooper, 83 years old: Mrs Anna Zimmer, 77: MrsBessic Alexander, 65: Mrs, Emma Felsks,87: Mrs. Catherine R. Jackline, 80:FIRE THAT KILLED TWO AND INJURED EIGHT OTHERS--fIred siyffert, 88, and Mrs, Mary Tabareo.74 Fire killed one man and another died from skul injuries resulting from a jump from his second floor room. Discovered shortly after 5 a.m. theblaze was then so intense it had cracked windows. Fire acts and ladders were used to remove someof the ecupants. Those who did not need hospital care were taken to shelters in nearby buildings.
