Caption: Two would-be purse snatchers ran for their lives when their intended victim, the woman shown above, pulled out a .22-caliber revolver and peppered a crowded downtown street with bullets. Hundreds of noontime strollers quickly sough cover as the 58-year-old Detroit woman fired three shots at the backs of her assailants, who fled. No passersby were struck.
