Caption: Piccadilly Commercial Development Birmingham, Michigan. A developer of Tally Hall, above, in Farmington Hills, is getting ready to create another complex of ethnic food shops and retail stores called Piccadilly in downtown Birmingham. Artist's sketch at right.Ground was broken today for construction of Piccadilly, a courtyard of nearly 50 shops and cafes located at the Birmingham downtown intersection of Brown Street and South Woodward Avenue. A shown above, Piccidilly will be adjacent to the Peabody Mansion, and serve as an indoor shopping area encompassing some 70,000 square feet. Bloomfield Hills based Samelson Development Co. is handling this project, which is scheduled for completion by July 1986.
