1979 Press Photo Pigeon River

Caption: Small owls traded hoots across the clearing, and the roar of the oil-drill-ing machines faded from memory. There were scars on the land here, but coming into the Country is still beautiful. The Pigeon River has changed, but at least it still flows free, not through suburban sewers and basements.
