Caption: JOHN MANNING, former editor of the Detroit Times and now contributing editor and columnist for the Free Press, was honored Tuesday by the Common Council. At a formal session, the Council paid recognition to Manning for his outstanding contributions to Detroit. He was presented with a framed copy of a poem, written in his honor by Councilman Del A. Smith.
