Caption: London--Prime Minister JOHN MAJO, who waged a come-from-behind soapbox campaign to extend 13 years of conservative Party government, won a narrow victory in Thursday's elections. With results from 609 seats out of the 651 contested, the British Broadcasting Corp. projected that Major's party would win 334 seats in the House of Commons, four more than a majority.
