Description
Caption: PORTLAND, ORE. The U.S. government deported two Portland men 11/18 on grounds that they belonged to subversive organizations in the 1930's. Here, Hamish Scot Mac Kay (photo left) is forcibly escorted by an immigration officer after trying to break away before being put on a plane for Canada. In photo right, Ronnie Mac Kay (C), son of the deported Hamish Mac Kay, attempts to break away from his mother (R) and others at the gate after learning that his father had been put on the plane. Hamish Mac Kay, 55-year-old carpenter, plans to stay in Vancouver, B.C. where he was flown. (UPI TELEPHOTO).
