1952 Press Photo Giants Sal Maglie out pinch hitter

Caption: Sal Maglie, who had nine straight victories to his credit, starts up the steps to the visitors dressing room at Sportsman's Park tonight after he was taken from game in sixth inning for a pinch hitter. His team, the New York Giants, were trailing by a 5 to 4 score when he left the game. The Cardinals held that lead for the remainder of the game and Maglie was charged with his first defeat of the season.
