Description
Caption: MCNAMARA VISITS TROOPS--Robert S. McNamara, U.S. Secretary of Defense, talks with Maj. Gen. John Norton, commander of the 1st Air Cavalry, during a visit today to Phu Cat on Viet Nam's central coast. Phu Cat is the base for the air cavalry's Operation Irving, in which Korean and Vietnamese troops are also taking part. The operation has given the allies the war's biggest bag of North Vietnamese and Viet Cong prisoners. McNamara flew to Phu Cat from Saigon, where he was briefed on military affairs the past two days.
