Caption: Britain Honors Burroughs Boss Britain's Queen Elizabeth has conferred the rank of honorary commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) upon Ray W. Macdonald, chairman of Detroit's Burroughs Corp. IN announcing the award, the British Embassy in Washington cited Macdonald's services in furthering Anglo-American relations. He will be invested with the insignia of the order by the British ambassador in Washington Nov. 30. The order was established in 1917 by King George V. Burroughs opened its first overseas sales office in England in 1895, and began manufacturing there three years later.
