Caption: Ace Killed -- Capt. Joseph McConnell Jr., 32, jet pilot who downed 16 Russian MIGs in the war in Korea, was killed today when his F68H Sabrejet crashed in the Mojave desert near Rogers Lake. His body was found beside his ejection seat and his unopened parachute was found half a mile away.
