McCormack, D-Mass, raises his hands conductor style on the rostrum of the U.S. House as he accepts election for another term as speaker, principal officer of the lower chamber of Congress. The veteran representative is starting his first full term in the job. Last session he filled out the unexpired time of the late Speaker Sam Rayburn.
