1954 Press Photo Clare Boothe Luce Rome poster crisis

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Caption: Youth views poster on wall in Rome today. Poster derides U.S. Ambassador to Italy, Clare Boothe Luce, charging she had conferred with Italian politicians during their recent political crisis. The poster, Communist-inspired, using a picture not flattering to the ambassador, declares no Italian can accept the interference of Mrs. Luce in their internal questions. It adds the Italian parliament should be the body to decide about the crisis.
