Description
Caption: John Lobbia, President & Chief Operating Officer - Detroit EdisonDETROIT EDISON PROTEST: About 200 Detroit Edison employees picketed company headquarters in Detroit to protest the lockout of 200 union workers at the Fermi 2 nuclear power plant. The locked-out workers are members of Local 223 of the Utility Workers Union of America, whose contract with Detroit Edison expired at midnight Monday. Detroit Edison said it locked out the workers because the union refused to promise it would give 24 hours notice before calling a strike. Union officials say they agreed to that in a letter sent to company Chairman.
