Description
Caption: Radiation in Cancer Treatment ? Dr. James Lofstrom, Professor of Radiology at Wayne State University College of Medicine (right), uses a mannequin to demonstrate how radiation works in the treatment of cancer. Rods indicate points at which radioactive rays enter the body and the paths they follow to converge on the focal point of the disease. Dr. Lofstrom appeared Tuesday evening on the WWJ-TV program ?What You Should Know About Cancer,? sponsored as a public service by the Upjohn Company of Kalamazoo. Howard Whitman, medical writer and TV commentator (left), was host and moderator of the program.
