Caption: On the road ever since he and his Royal Canadians started out here 45 years ago, Guy Lombardo finally made it to New York's Carnegie Hall and Ethel Merman was there to give him a congratulatory hug. President Nixon sent a telegram of best wishes, and 2,000 middle aged or older fans showed up to go sedatedly wild as Lombardo and his 12 piece band bowed in with "Auld Lang Syne.".
