Caption: THE AGONY OF A BOGIE--Gene Littler of Ranch Bernardo, Calif., frowns as he studies a difficult lie off the second green during the opening round of the $50,000 Los Angeles Open golf tournament today, the chips 10 feet past the pin. He missed the putt for a bogie 5. Littler played the back nine first in 29, six under par, then shot the front nine in 36 for an 18-hole total of 65. The bogie here was his first of the day.
