1974 Press Photo Congress Bob Huber MIA Foreign Affairs

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Caption: Congressman Bob Huber met this week with a number of the wives who came to Washington to prod the government into action to determine the fate of their husbands who are listed as "Missing in Action" in Southeast Asia. Left to right are Mrs. Julie Taber of Bakersfield, California, Congressman Huber and Mrs. Bette Charney of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Huber holds a copy of the hearings on his MIA bill, which was voted out of a Foreign Affairs Subcommittee Wednesday and is expected to clear the full Committee for a vote by the House. This action is expected to again focus national and international attention on this neglected issue.
