Grandpa hope, then 96, lived to just short of 100. Bob was then 35. George Bernard Shaw used to say the best way to be guaranteed a long life was to select parents who live to a ripe old age. Hope's grandfather gives the entertainer a leg up on longevity. Hope will celebrate his 82nd birthday on a blockbuster of a show with H.R.H. Prince Philip and some 25 top stars. The two hour special on NBC will air on May 28th from 9-11 pm. (Est) Texaco, his sponsor, will fund the closed captioning of Hope's show for the hearing impaired.
